Booker T will no longer compete inside a WWE ring. The WWE Legend said that the 2023 Royal Rumble bout was his last performance as a pro wrestler. This news came as a shock to the WWE Universe as they expressed their heartfelt tributes to the former world champion.

With an experience of almost two decades, Booker has bagged the WCW Tag Team Championship, the world championship, and King of the Ring 11 times, six-time and the 2006 Tournament, respectively. In his vast wrestling career, he has squared off against the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, and many more.

The news of Booker hanging up his boots went viral after the wrestling legend himself mentioned it in his podcast. Speaking on his recent The Hall of Fame podcast show, Booker confessed that Royal Rumble was probably his “last” match in WWE.

The 3-time United States Champion said that he will continue to “work” with his “students” but as far as wrestling goes, he has said his goodbyes. The former WCW Champion got a little “sad” while making his announcement on the podcast.

“It’s kind of sad too. I’m kind of choked up about it a little bit. It was a great exit for me. I don’t think it could have been better than that, but putting the old boots up, it’s kind of hard. I think that was the last time putting on the boots and getting back in the ring at that level. I think that’s the last time I really want to do it at that level. I don’t think it can get better than that, seriously. I want to thank all the fans for that moment,” said Booker.

Booker’s last appearance was at the 30- men’s Royal Rumble match. He entered the match at #21 but lasted less than a minute. After he entered the squared circle, he did his famous iconic move ‘Spinaroonie’ and shortly after that, Gunther threw him off the top rope. Booker was a surprise entrance to this year’s men’s royal rumble match and his entry was harshly criticized by the fans.
