Stephanie McMahon stepped down from her position as the chair and Co-CEO of the company. This happened after her father, Vince McMahon, was unanimously re-elected as WWE’s Executive Chair.

Nick Khan, the former Co-CEO, is now the sole CEO of the company, and Paul “Triple H” Levesque still remains the Chief Content Officer.

Mr. McMahon has shown his full support for his daughter’s decision to retire from the company.

Stephanie McMahon resigns from WWE

On Tuesday, 10 January, The Billion Dollar Princess made the shocking announcement of stepping down from her post. It was less than one week after her dad, The Genetic Jackhammer, came out of retirement and returned as chair of the board to facilitate a sale of the company.

The former CEO and controlling shareholder of the company forced his way back onto the WWE’s Board of Directors and just days after shocked the WWE Universe with the news of taking his old position back as the Chair Executive.

The New WWE Executive Chair issued a statement on the resignation of his daughter from the company.

In his statement, he expressed his “full support” for his daughter’s decision. He confessed to being “forever grateful” for Stephane’s service to the company during his absence. “I’m truly proud of the job she did co-leading WWE. Stephanie has always been the ultimate ambassador for our company, and her decades of contributions have left an immeasurable impact on our brand,” said Mr. McMahon in his statement.

He then announced Nick Khan as the sole CEO of WWE. He added, “Nick’s business acumen and mastery of the media industry have helped catapult our business to record revenue and profitability. Together, we look forward to working with the Board at this critical moment in time to review our strategic alternatives and maximize value for all WWE shareholders.”

Stephanie took over as chair and Co-CEO in July 2022

The Owner of the WWF/E retired last year in the month of July. It was because of misconduct allegations and reports of him paying hush money to four women.

Younger McMahon returned from a leave of absence in the same month. She came to hold the reins of the company after her father decided to take a break. WWE named The Queen of the Queens as the chair of the company. The company also elected her as the Co-CEO of the company alongside Nick Khan. Paul “Triple H” Levesque was appointed as the company’s Creative Head.
