The creative officer is here to explain his executive decisions. Recently, Triple H faced massive backlash after announcing the SmackDown Women’s Championship to be the main event on night one. However, Paul Michael Levesque has changed the order since then and decided that The Usos vs Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens took more precedence. In a recent interview, ‘The King of Kings’ explained his reasoning behind changing the main spot for the night.
Triple H explains how Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens made more impact
Many fans had queries about the main event for Day 1 at WrestleMania. However, Triple H saw the tag team featuring Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, going against The Usos as the obvious favorite.

During the WWE post-match conference, Paul Levesque spoke about why he made that choice and said “You know, it’s all about what is the most impactful, and as storylines played out heading into WrestleMania, to me, it was the most emotional and storyline-driven match on the card. I felt like that needed to be, I think we all felt like that needed to be in that spot.”

Moreover, Paul Levesque does not want to take anything away from the Women’s SmackDown Championship event. But the general public is more emotionally connected to The Bloodlines’ storyline, so ‘The Hunter’ had to make that call.
The King of Kings commends The Bloodlines’ storyline
Triple H concluded that the main spot could only go to those who have an invested storyline. During the interview, Triple H added, “I’ve said this before when people say, ‘oh you put the women in the main event.’ We didn’t put the women in the main event, that’s the spot. That is the storyline that was putting it in that role. It’s not about giving it to them because they’re women..”

Despite a great matchup between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair, the creative head had a clear winner for the spot. Sami Zayn’s gradual rise over the past year is a testament to how much ‘The Great Liberator’ deserves to be at the main event spot for WrestleMania.
HHH said, “Whatever story has the most impact and is the most driven, that’s what needs to be in the spot, and in this case, it was the Usos and Kevin and Sami.”
Therefore, Triple H felt The Bloodlines’ storyline has created more impact than the Women’s SmackDown Championship event.
