WrestleMania has always been synonymous with surprise appearances and returns. ‘The Showcase Of Immortals’ didn’t disappoint this time either. The host of WrestleMania, The Miz, and rapper Snoop Dogg was addressing the 80,497 pumped-up fans when a familiar theme music hit and Pat McAfee shockingly appeared.
His presence at the mega-event was made more surprising because due to WWE CEO Nick Khan’s recent remarks. He had said former SmackDown commentator won’t play any part in the Mania event.
That was a swerve as the former NFL star was there in flesh and blood. Not only that, McAfee issued a challenge to The Miz for an impromptu match. And Snoop Dogg exercised his powers as the self-proclaimed host of mania to make the match official.

Fans react to Pat McAfee’s shock WrestleMania 39 appearance

Seemed a bit subdued, to be honest.
Poor reaction from the crowd to Pat's return. He ain't over in LA.

The WWE Universe is majorly missing some legends making an appearance at Mania.
I love pat but this is getting boring now. It's sad not having any legends for #WrestleMania

Not the “surprise” I was thinking 🙃

McAfee’s appearance would be remembered for its pure shock value. However, the reaction to his return was low-key by the crowd and by the looks of it, on the web as well. The Stamford-based promotion does deserve the kudos for literally throwing everyone off any appearance by the former Indianapolis Colt player.
There have been a lot of talks regarding McAfee’s future with WWE recently
There has been a huge shadow over McAfee’s future with WWE. And many reasons have been cited, from his tight schedule to his wife expecting soon.

Current blue-brand announcer Wade Barrett also recently commented that the former NFL star’s future may lie elsewhere.
And the aforementioned remarks by Khan had all but ended all hopes but here we are! Whether this transpires into something for the long run remains to be seen.
Pat McAfee made quick work of The A-lister as he took him to the cleaners. The latter’s night went from bad to worse as he bad-mouthed the San Fransisco 49ers player George Kittle, who was present in the crowd. He jumped off the barricade to attack The Miz with a clothesline and provide an assist. McAfee pinned the former WWE champion after a punt to the joy of the huge crowd.
