It was time for the main event on day two of WrestleMania 39. In just a matter of minutes, Cody Rhodes was going to face WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns for the title. Over 80,000 spectators waited with bated breath. Then came a massive pop as the LED screens lit up with Cody Rhodes’ hologram and his entrance music was played. In walked Rhodes and after acknowledging the fanfare, walked to his family who sat ringside.
Rhodes kissed his wife Brandi and picked up their daughter Liberty as he indulged in a familial moment. What he did next was a special gesture. After acknowledging his sister and mother, Rhodes hugged a young boy and gave him his weight belt. It was none other than the son of deceased wrestler Jonathan Huber, who appeared in WWE as Luke Harper and as Brodie Lee in the rival AEW.

Amanda Huber says she’s unimpressed with the match result
After a valiant effort, Cody Rhodes went down as Roman Reigns managed to retain his championship belts. The result divided opinions.
Amanda Huber, the wife of the deceased Huber, took to Twitter to share her thoughts. “That was the wrong call,” she said. Needless to say, like many Amanda was rooting for Rhodes to win the match. The final result left her disappointed.

Meanwhile, Huber tweeted about the special bond the two families share, after Cody’s heartwarming gesture towards her son.
On the other hand, Roman Reigns is now almost guaranteed a 1000-day title reign after his win against Rhodes. While his fans can rejoice in the win, there’s light at the end of the tunnel for Cody Rhodes’ fans as well.

Cody Rhodes’ loss to Roman Reigns was the end of a chapter and not the story, WWE’s head of creative Triple H said after the match.
Hunter said that in the WWE, a story never finishes. “Tomorrow night on Raw… the story continues. The story takes another chapter. We just got to the end of the chapter. But the story continues, and that’s where this gets interesting to me. That is what is the most amazing thing about our business. The story never ends,” the 14x WWE Champion said.
