Many fans were disappointed by the result of the main event of WrestleMania 39 night 2. While Cody Rhodes had all the momentum in the world, he came out short when it mattered the most. Rhodes was not the only one with a disappointed face at the end, there were millions of fans along with him.

Thinking about the next chapter in Rhodes’ wrestling career, fans want him to leave WWE entirely. Many of the fans wanted him to go back to Tony Khan and AEW. In AEW, Rhodes had the position of the Chief Branding Officer as well as one of the Executive Vice Presidents, along with his buddies, The Elite. So going back won’t be the end of the world for him.

After so much build-up and hype behind Cody Rhodes, everyone thought that he will finally get his due by winning the big one at WrestleMania, but that didn’t happen. Despite the countless interviews and segments, Rhodes wasn’t the person whose hand was raised in the end and carried the titles.

This hits harder when his father’s dream is taken into context. Both Rhodes and Reigns made a big deal about the fact that Dusty Rhodes had never won a WWE Champion. So, will Rhodes be unable to grab the titles regardless of being the top star in WWE?

Only time will tell us what happens next with Rhodes in WWE. But fans are not happy with this result and can’t continue to watch Rhodes like this in WWE.

Tony Khan and AEW have been a big part of Rhodes’ wrestling career, so it wouldn’t be improbable to see the American Nightmare go back to the company he help start.
