“We Weren’t Seeing That Growth”: Insider’s Stinging Comments Reveal Stephanie McMahon’s Leave of Absence Reason

Vince McMahon has made a fortune from professional wrestling after purchasing WWWF from his father. He renamed it WWE and today, as his goal was, the company is a global professional wrestling company.

Even though the company is well recognized worldwide, Vince McMahon is always finding new ways to earn more profits. While the things in the company started boosting, Chief Branding Officer Stephanie McMahon announced her leave of absence from WWE.

It came as a shock for many when they saw ‘The Billion Dollar Princess’ announcing her leave from WWE. However, she claimed to take time off to spend some time with her family, but as per recent rumors, there are other reasons.

The real reason behind Stephanie McMahon leaving WWE for a while

Stephanie McMahon announced her leave of absence from WWE for some time. It shook the WWE universe, as she is one of the prominent figures in the company. She gave the reason to spend time with her family. However, everyone suspects there is another unrevealed reason behind it.

Recently, BusinesssInsider, in their column, shared recent news about WWE. One of those was regarding Stephanie McMahon leaving the company. Apparently, Vince McMahon replaced her in the corporate role as part of a shakeup.

McMahon is both an on-air talent as well as a popular executive responsible for advertising and sponsorships. Her work profile also includes marketing, brand business, and creative services, along with community and entertainment relations.

Moreover, WWE is eying to close the year at $100 million. Last year on the November earnings call, Stephanie McMahon spoke about WWE’s potential in the brand and sponsorship arena. 

She said, “There is no reason why in the next three to five years, we couldn’t be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. We weren’t seeing that growth. When someone is moved out of a company, it’s usually the result of something not working. We took stronger control of that a few months ago.”

This could be a major reason why Stephanie might have left WWE for a while. Her position in the company was replaced and also her comments may have affected the officials. As she is an important figure in WWE and nobody thought she would announce leaving the company.

Vince McMahon on running the company with family members

Prior to WrestleMania Vince McMahon appeared on The Pat McAfee Show. There he commented on how it is like to run WWE with family members.

Mr. McMahon said, “I’ve probably expected more from my family members. You have to do the right thing for the business. If this person isn’t working out, they shouldn’t be part of the company.” 

 It seems Vince McMahon is a person who doesn’t want personal relationships to come in between business. Over the years, he has chosen what is good for WWE as a business and how it will be profitable for the company.
