Despite being three times WWE women’s champion and one-time women’s tag team champion, Ronda Rousey isn’t regarded as a fan favorite. That said, now it turned out fans took a 360-degree turn to comment about her upcoming walkout on social media.

Why did fans dislike Ronda Rousey?

In a 5 year WWE run, “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” failed to rise to the good grace of fans. The majority of fans keep heaping criticism on her regardless of her heel or face persona. That said, they have some compelling reasons as well. Firstly, despite possessing a stout athletic physique with great stamina, Rousey’s mic skill isn’t up to that rank.

Also, after a promising WWE debut, the former MMA champion was able the clinch the Raw Women’s Championship title very quickly, prompting fans to regard her meteoric rise as unearned. They felt that Rousey was provided with top spots without paying her dues, unlike other crossover athletes.

Last but not least, Rousey’s outspoken, rebellious nature added to the fans’ aversion. Frequent controversial comments about the company certainly lowered her value among fans.

But now the situation saw an unexpected shift, with fans quickly jumping from criticizing to praising tone as the WWE star is nearing the end of her journey in the Stamford-based company.

Fans seem heartbroken as Ronda Rousey teased a WWE retirement 

Ahead of beating down former tag teammate Ronda Rousey in an MMA Rules match at SummerSlam last weekend, Shayna Baszler addressed the ongoing rumors of Rousey leaving the company before WrestleMania 40. She stated that Rousey could get the best of the fans’ sentiments only if she would win. As per Baszler’s instinct, if Rousey would leave after a loss, fans would get behind the winner. But the reality showed the reverse.

Initially, Ronda Rousey’s defeat at the hands of Shayna Baszler met with negative reactions from fans. But as soon as the former MMA star posted an Instagram post through which she subtly bid goodbye to the WWE world, legitimizing the months-old rumor, fans can’t keep their animosity intact with the prized WWE wrestler.

Giving her the due credit for whatever she has done for the business, one fan wrote, ‘‘You’re the best thing about WWE”.

Some fans urged her to stay in the promotion, ”What do you mean?!!! Plssss don’t leave wwe 💔💔”, ”NOOOOO MOMMYYYY DONTTT LEAVEEEEE 😭😭😭😭.”

It seemed like Rousey finally got the much-awaited recognition from fans standing at the end of her WWE stint.

A fan wrote with overwhelming emotion, ”Noooo 😔😔😔 Ronda Rousey I will miss you a lot and better I love you my champion ❤️❤️🫶”

It has been a long six years since Ronda Rousey’s last stepped into the octagon. So, a second UFC run can be the perfect redemption for her. Although it won’t be an easy deal either for the former champion to get her mojo back after years of absence, fans hope she will still get back to the cage to science her haters.

”You must be going back to the UFC since Nunez belts are now vacant,” one fan made his wish loud and clear. 

Now, we have to wait patiently to know what comes next for the former Raw Women’s Champion’s fate outside the squared circle.
