People often say, once a fighter always a fighter. This saying stems from the truth, considering how people often stay in the fighting business after they retire, as coaches, trainers, or sometimes even as WWE stars. The UFC Bantamweight and Featherweight champion Amanda Nunes is a living example of the same.
While in conversation with Sports Illustrated, Nunes revealed that she may consider taking up fighting in the WWE following the end of her fighting days at the UFC.
“Not right now, but maybe later when I retire. I’m open to it. Why not? I could try something new,” said the 31-year-old fighter when asked about the possibility of signing with the WWE.

Nunes is at her peak, having established herself as one of the best. From defeating the most notable names in the game to holding titles from two weight divisions. ‘The Lioness’ barely does justice to her valor and tenacity.
Looking past her career in MMA, its time for a new challenge for Nunes. And the WWE is the next greatest platform. It is the kind of territory that she may be interested in conquering following her exploits in the UFC.
Amanda Nunes Drops a Hint
Nunes recently posted a video on Instagram of her fight against Shayna Baszler. A fight that Nunes won by knocking Shayna out within 2 minutes of the starting bell.
Baszler, since her last fight at the UFC, has gone on to join the WWE. The Queen of Spades has done so well for herself that she is a two-time NXT women’s champion. In addition, Baszler made an appearance at WrestleMania 36 to take on Becky Lynch.

Fans mistook this video as evidence of her interest in signing with the WWE. However, Nunes later clarified that the only thing the video is evidence of is the fact that coaches know best.
“It was a huge moment in my career. It’s not about showing people that I hurt her. It’s a reminder to me about believing in my coach. My coach at the time wanted me to drop her with the leg kick and that’s what happened,” said Amanda Nunes in an attempt to justify why she posted the video.

However, Baszler is not the only WWE personality that Nunes has conquered over the course of her career. The Lioness bagged a win over Ronda Rousey by knocking her out back in 2016 at UFC 207. Nunes brought Rousey down within 50 seconds of the first round.
