Cormier was recently on The MMA Hour with Daniel Cormier | Nov 29, 2023. While he discussed UFC, he also went into WWE. His answer was surprising when asked who he would like to see at the Royal Rumble 2024. Cormier named a former WWE Women’s Champion as someone he would like to see return at the PLE.

Cormier said, “Royal Rumble, maybe Sasha Banks comes back.” When asked by the host, Ariel, why he wanted that, his answer was simple. He said, “She’s won every championship — she’s the best.” This line showcased what a fan Cormier is of Banks and how well he has followed her career in the WWE.

Banks won every title in the WWE, including being a five-time WWE Women’s Champion. She was also one of the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and also a former NXT Women’s Champion. Banks got over with the fans in NXT and was part of the Four Horsewomen of NXT.

Why Banks left the WWE at the peak of her career?

In 2022, Banks and Naomi were partners and the WWE Women’s Tag Team champions. During the May 16, 2022 episode of RAW, both walked out of the arena. This was due to a creative dispute with Vince McMahon.

According to reports, the two left their titles in the office before walking out. On SmackDown, it was announced that the two were suspended indefinitely and the titles were vacant. By the end of 2022, in December, it was revealed that negotiations over her compensation were one of the reasons why Banks left the WWE. Despite leaving the Stamford-based wrestling promotion on bad terms, the former WWE star could spring up to her old stomping ground with Triple H at the helm. We will have to wait and see if the UFC legend’s words ring true at the Royal Rumble.
