The Undertaker explained why the confrontation made UFC president mad
Recently, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker appeared on the latest episode of the podcast ‘Hawk vs. Wolf’. There, he discussed several things with the host. While talking about other things, ‘The Deadman’ unfolded an interesting fact that could have potentially created a feud between Vince McMahon and UFC president Dana White in 2010.
During the Podcast, the host asked The Undertaker about the infamous stare-down between him and Brock Lesnar during UFC 121.
To this, the WWE legend replied that he was there to pick a fight with the ‘Beast Incarnate’. The Deadman mentioned that he didn’t know that the UFC president didn’t have any idea about the confrontation and it made him very angry.
While recalling the moment, The Undertaker said, “No, I was, I was strictly there to pick a fight……We did that and then nothing happened… not until years later…….Dana had no clue what was going on. And, we weren’t aware of the fact that Dana did not know that I was going to do that. He was not happy that some guy from the WWE is challenging his biggest draw. And yeah, but we thought he was on board with it.”
The confrontation didn’t turn out to be fruitful

Later, the Hall of Famer explained that the confrontation could have been quite beneficial for both WWE and UFC. However, it didn’t happen as Lesnar didn’t sign with WWE until a couple of years later.
“It probably could have been (beneficial for both WWE and UFC). But again, it didn’t happen for years. I mean it was years later before he got out, he left UFC and then came back to the WWE. So we jumped the gun a little bit on the timing, but it was a buzz in the MMA community.”
The confrontation was all about building hype around The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar match that WWE was planning that year. However, the plan didn’t work as ‘The Beast’ would only return to the company in 2012.
