Ronda Rousey is a multi-faceted athlete, who has rocked the ring not just in the WWE, but also in the UFC. With her determination and toughness, Rousey reached heights no female athlete could, and many of her colleagues respect her for it. One such instance happened right after UFC 207, where a legendary MMA fighter defended Rousey and criticized those who were celebrating her loss.

Conor McGregor is not a new name to anyone – from boxing to MMA, the “Fighting Irish” has dominated over his opponents and won fans over with his sharp technical prowess and impressive personality. McGregor is a fighter who sticks to the honor code – and he made that clear in the wake of UFC 207 when he looked down on those trying to celebrate Rousey’s devastating loss to Amanda Nunes.
What did McGregor say about Ronda Rousey and her loss?
‘Mystic Mac’ addressed his fans, saying, “When Ronda lost, I woke up to all these messages. ‘Now let’s see what they do.’ And I’m like, what? I love Ronda, I was always a big supporter of Ronda.” Rousey suffered a crippling loss to Nunes at UFC 207, with the match lasting a mere 48 seconds. The loss was especially devastating, as the match was supposed to be “Rowdy” Rousey’s comeback after her brutal loss to Holly Holm the previous year.
McGregor dissuaded those trying to celebrate Rousey’s defeat, saying, “Then she loses that second one and people are trying to make me celebrate, ‘now they’ve got nobody.’ That’s a wrong mindset. I don’t celebrate another’s defeat like that. That’s weak. A weak individual does that. People were trying to celebrate when I lost who had nothing to do with it. That ain’t the sign of a champion. That ain’t the sign of a true champion, so I couldn’t believe it.”
McGregor and Ronda Rousey have always supported each other
McGregor isn’t bluffing; he’s always supported Rousey, even when she shifted to the WWE, saying, “She’s a pioneer for the game, and she came through it all. She faced big wins and big losses, she came through it, and it was great to see her represent herself and mixed martial arts and have fun in the WWE.”

The respect and admiration is mutual – Rousey has gone on record multiple times and expressed her support for ‘The Notorious’, even when he was receiving flak for hurling abuses and threats at Dustin Poirier and his wife after UFC 264. Fans have always loved ‘Notorious’ McGregor for his code of honor.

With Rousey’s recent string of bad luck in the WWE, it would be well to remember that no matter what, she still enjoys the support of the one and only Conor McGregor.
