Cena’s rise first with WWE and now as a Hollywood actor has made him a popular name in pop culture. A few years ago, comedian Bert Kreischer revealed one of Cena’s quirks while on a flight.
John Cena once played a popular mobile game on a flight for 5 hours
During his time in WWE, John Cena came to be known as the company guy. He would work every event, every pay-per-view, giving a proof of his dedication to the business. Cena has shown the same dedication since he transitioned to Hollywood. And it seems his focus and attention go beyond the ring and his acting career.
In an old episode of his far-famed podcast, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan and famous American comedian Bert Kreischer talked about how the ‘Leader of Cenation’ once played the popular mobile game ‘Candy Crush’ for five hours while on a flight.
In the interview, Kreischer revealed that his father once told him that he was seated next to a man on a plane who played ‘Candy Crush’ on the flight for five hours. Funnily enough, Joey Diaz, another comedian, who was also on the flight, then revealed to Bert Kreischer that the man was actually John Cena!
This surprising disclosure prompted a response from Joe Rogan, who said, “Oh My God! Poor John Cena plays Candy Crush. He just got outed.”
Indeed, John Cena playing Candy Crush for the entirety of a flight is an amusing and strange bit of news for his fans. Depending on where you stand on the hit mobile game, it will either make you adore Cena even more or shun him. Rogan and his guests further talked about how mobile games can be addictive and guilty pleasures for anyone, citing examples from their lives.
John Cena’s illustrious WWE career
After making his WWE debut in 2002, Cena established himself as one of the staples of WWE SmackDown as ‘The Doctor of Thuganomics’. He captured the United States Championship at WrestleMania 20 and continued his rise. His crowing moment came a year later when he ended JBL’s reign as the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 21.
From there, he didn’t look back. WWE placed him as the top guy of the company and he delivered big time in that respect. He had memorable feuds with the likes of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Edge, and many more. His run as the champion who fought against the odds made him a polarizing yet important figure in the WWE.
