Last year, we saw one of the most shocking events in wrestling take place. Vince McMahon stepped down from his position in WWE. This left a massive hole that Triple H filled seamlessly. His wrestling knowledge, coupled with experience with the product fir years, led to WWE steadying the ship and even improving its programming.

With Nick Khan at his side for all major business decisions and managerial responsibilities, the duo had successfully filled and, in some ways, improved on McMahon’s role in the company. But earlier this McMahon returned to WWE with the intention of selling WWE. After Endeavor’s deal with WWE, McMahon has also taken over creative control, but Triple H is getting heavily compensated for his prior role.

The major bonus that Triple H is getting after the WWE and UFC merger

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that Triple H gained a massive bonus of $5 million and Nick Khan gained $15 million. The reason for this bonus was the contributions of the two men during Vince McMahon’s absence. Starting from SummerSlam 2022, whenHunter and Khan took control of the company.

Sapp’s message also included that this bonus was made to promote the retention of both Nick Khan and Triple H by WWE. Despite McMahon getting back in his position, there could be some hope that Hunter gets a say in the company in the future.

But it is an undeniable fact that Triple H’s takeover of WWE was a major event that most fans loved. With many PLEs, taking place all around the world and engaging storylines, the numbers also back up this claim.

After McMahon left the company, Hunter made a lot of changes that fans desperately wanted to see in the company. In addition to that, he brought some of the fan favorites that left the company due to budget cuts. But the biggest change in the company was the booking. Not only did Hunter bring much-needed variety in matches and booking of its stars, but he also brought story telling to the front.

His biggest success was the entire Bloodline saga. While under McMahon’s gaze, Roman Reigns became the Tribal Chief. But it was during Triple H’s guidance that they build everything around Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes, and Kevin Owens. It wasn’t only entertaining but brought many people back to the company. Apart from that the work done to elevate The Judgement Day faction, with Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio being the standouts was also commendable.

The booking of mid card titles also garnered much praise, with GUNTHER being booked as a dominant Intercontinental Champion and Austin Theory now on the rise as the U.S Champion. With the recent changes in the company, it remains to be seen how much control Triple H will retain creatively going forward.
