Whether it is the WWE or UFC, Brock Lesnar is as tough as they come. His mere presence is enough to strike fear into the hearts of men. After carving out a respectable WWE career, Lesnar set out to dominate the world of MMA, joining the UFC in 2007. However, his battle with diverticulitis was one of the major setbacks of his career.

Fans were convinced that they had seen the last of him in the octagon until he made his groundbreaking return at UFC 200. In addition, Brock Lesnar learned that he was in the main event a day before the event.

The UFC 200 main event was originally scheduled to feature Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier. However, the match did not take place due to Jon Jones’ reported Doping Violation. In turn, the main event saw Meisha Tate defend her Bantamweight Championship against Amanda Nunes in a losing effort.

The co-main event, however, featured a battle of the heavyweights between a returning Brock Lesnar and Mark Hunt. Lesnar was asked when he found out he was in the main event during a pre-fight press conference a day before the fight.

He shocked the audience when he revealed that he found out that he was in the main event on the morning of the press conference. Moreover, he went on say that he was fine with being anywhere on the card so long as he gets to compete.

He said, “I found out this morning so, it doesn’t matter, I could be at the beginning of the show, I’m just you know, or at the end of the show it don’t matter to me I’m here to… I’ll tell you one thing I’m gonna leave it all out in the Octagon tomorrow night or Saturday night and that’s I’m just excited.”

Ultimately, after a 5-year-hiatus, Brock Lesnar outwrestled Mark Hunt to win by unanimous decision. However, the decision was later overturned as a no-contest. This came after the former UFC Champion tested positive for using clomiphene and hydroxy-clomiphene, anti-estrogen drugs.

Lesnar told New York Post that he had closed the door on MMA because it is a young man’s sport. He said, “That’s a young man’s sport, and that door is closed. I’m Brock Lesnar, the WWE Superstar.”

There’s no denying that if Brock Lesnar had immersed himself in MMA before professional wrestling, he would be one of the greatest of all time in the world of mixed martial arts.

Nevertheless, he is still a revered personality everywhere he goes. Lesnar recently made his return and attacked Cody Rhodes, setting up their match for SummerSlam.
