Grayson Waller surely knows how to make a name for himself. Over the last few months, the superstar has targeted several legends and Hall of Famers and caused an absolute ruckus in WWE. But it seems like WWE isn’t the only promotion he’s targeting.

A recent interview tells us the 33-year-old now has his sights set on the MMA legend, the GOAT, Conor McGregor.

Waller has gained considerable traction ever since he got drafted to the SmackDown roster in 2023. From taking a dig at AJ Styles on his debut night, interrupting John Cena at Money in the Bank PLE, to mocking Edge on SmackDown, the superstar has caused a huge stir among fans.

Now, in a recent sit-down interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, he spoke about ‘The Notorious One’ in depth.

The newcomer spoke about how he feels McGregor has all the attributes of being a professional wrestler. He even cheekily mocked him by adding that the fighting Irishman walks like Vince McMahon.

Waller, who is a huge MMA fan, also believes that McGregor will eventually show up in WWE, at least as a part-timer considering his persona and the amount of money he could make.

But interestingly, this isn’t the first time superstars from WWE have taken digs at McGregor.

Why WWE superstars are taking jabs at McGregor

Conor’s relationship with WWE has always been shaky. Several superstars have thrashed him verbally on Twitter and taken sly jabs at ‘El Chapo’. For those unaware, in 2016, McGregor was asked if he’d ever make a jump to WWE from UFC, to which he replied that he’d “slap the head off” of the entire roster.

The former UFC champ received severe backlash from fans for this, and to add to his misery, he was systematically picked apart by superstars, mocking his statement and kicking him to the curb.

Superstars, including Roman Reigns, Kurt Angle, and Becky Lynch, all had a wild go at Conor and made fun of his weight class, and said they’d easily annihilate him. Chris Jericho even accused Conor of fighting in fixed UFC fights.

This incident has severely battered the equation between both sides and now one wonders if McGregor will ever step inside the WWE squared circle. With superstars marking their territory and waiting to get their hands on him, the hostility is palpable.
