Ronda Rousey rose to popularity around 2015 in the world of MMA. The Rowdy One has always been a dedicated sports person. However, in the same year, Rousey shared her views of Tom Brady on his involvement in Deflategate controversy in a match between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts during the 2014 AFC Championship Game.

In May 2015, appeared for an interview on ‘Sports Illustrated’. The host asked her what were her thoughts on Tom Brady’s suspension. Moreover, the host also asked Ronda Rousey for her opinions on cheating in the game.
The Baddest Woman on the Planet said, “Well, if you’re seeking the advantage you didn’t earn, then I think it’s cheating. So if he has an advantage with the grip of the balls, the other team doesn’t have, what did he do to earn that? He doesn’t deserve to have that advantage. I think that is cheating.”
After the investigation, officials suspended Brady for four matches in the 2015 regular season. However, he successfully appealed the suspension in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Therefore, he played for the entire 2015 season.
Furthermore, his suspension was reinstated in 2016. As a result, he missed the first four of the 2016 regular season. Surprisingly, the New England Patriots won that year’s season and Brady was the MVP that season at Super Bowl.
However, it seems Brady did not impress the current WWE superstar. However, sometime later, Rousey’s views over Brady might have changed after he returned from suspension and won Super Bowl LI in 2016.
Ronda Rousey recalls her Olympics days to explain sports should be played with a healthy competition
The host asked Ronda Rousey whether should people look at Tom Brady and other sports person who break the rules differently.
Rousey said, “Yeah, yes. I think that competing with integrity is one of the important things in sports. Sports are supposed to be pure and ideal.”
Further, the UFC legend recalled a story from her Olympics days. She said, “I still have like that Olympic idealism of what sports are supposed to be. And I remember my first Olympics in 2004, and it was right after the Iraq war started and all that.”

The former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion added, “Now I was running on the treadmill next to an athlete from Iraq and I was so happy to do that because nothing mattered. It was just about sports and the purity of competition. When people try to cheat for just the gains that they get from the competition, it goes against everything that I was ever taught.”

The Rowdy One is a former Judoka and MMA fighter. She has fought every match having healthy competition. Even today in WWE, she does the same.
