While WWE Backlash in Lyon, France, was a massive success, the post-show press conference took the limelight. Nothing eye-catching was revealed, but a particular arrogant remark by Triple H gained significant criticism. While speaking to the press, the Head of Creative said something he shouldn’t have. However, now his choice of words and way of conveying his message has drawn a comparison to UFC’s Dana White.

White is notorious for his handling of media and press events. Here is how the two became linked.

During the press conference, Hunter was asked about Drew Gulak’s release. The report mentioned Fightful Select and PWInsider while citing sources. Both media houses have reputations for being the best at their work. However, The Game said that the report needed to find better sources. Fans were immediately up in arms about this and demanded Triple H apologize. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select touched upon the issue during his WWE Raw 5/6/2024 Full Show Review & Results live stream. He said, “I covered the UFC full-time for a very long time. A very mild, tepid comment like that, compared to the stuff Dana White says on a weekly basis.”

White earned a negative reputation for being mean and rude to the press. While not expected from Hunter, this type of behavior came as a shock to many. Sapp continued, “This guy is having compilation videos of any detractors possibly promoted and put on his Twitter and all that stuff.” This was to explain how often the UFC head honcho has had outbursts during press meets. While Sapp confirmed that The Game called him later and apologized, he mentioned another notable WWE figure better than Hunter at handling media.

Sapp said, “I can tell you who has never responded in that arrogant manner, Shawn Michaels.” He explained how the Heartbreak Kid dealt with similar questions, but his approach differed. He added that, unlike Hunter, Michaels had no prior training to talk to the media.

Despite this, his approach was much different. Sapp said that Michaels would never be arrogant; instead, he would answer eloquently. The news broke a day after Sapp returned from his grandmother’s funeral. He mentioned that he didn’t hold any ill feelings towards Hunter. Regardless of what people say, Fightful will continue to deliver the best they can. This was Sapp’s ultimate message. What did you think of the segment?
