Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been working in Hollywood for almost two decades. It was in 2004 that the former WWE champion said goodbye to his trade in the ring to devote himself fully to acting. But beyond his box office power, Johnson has received some criticism for playing himself more often than not. Now, however, a new project could change that notion. The Rock catches adult heat on social media

It was revealed last year that Dwayne Johnson would play former UFC star Mark Kerr in a biopic titled ‘The Smashing Machine’. It celebrates the life of the man who was considered one of the best heavyweights in history. In fact, he has earned a reputation for being a pioneer in this sport. And it will finally be brought to the big screen. The Rock is making sure that he leaves no stone unturned in training for this movie. And so he has been training in MMA. And @freak.mma, a page on Instagram shared a clip of the Brahma Bull’s MMA training. In the video, the Rock can be seen throwing punches wearing a sando and ultra-short shorts. Something that caught the attention of Adult star, Kendra Lust as she commented, “I mean does he have to wear those shorts to train in 🧐”

Well, there is no denying that those shorts are tiny for a guy built as huge as The Rock. But he sure is throwing some serious punches there. Cody Rhodes would be glad that the Rock did not train like this before WrestleMania. Otherwise, Mama Rhodes surely would’ve seen him bleed. But the Rock surely is taking the role seriously. All we know about ‘The Smashing Machine’

A24 Productions, the same company behind hits such as Talk to Me (2023) and Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) will make the movie. Actor and filmmaker Benny Safdie, recognized for his work together with his brother Josh Safdie, such as Uncut Gems and Good Time, will direct the film. Speaking to Variety, Johnson revealed that the collaboration with Safdie began in 2019, but the COVID-19 pandemic and other commitments temporarily put the project on hold.

The forced pause because of the pandemic did not stop the determination of both artists, who resumed contact thanks to actress Emily Blunt, star of the film Jungle Cruise with Johnson, during the filming of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, where Blunt shared the screen with the director. There was no better actor than Dwayne Johnson to play Mark Kerr. The Rock is one of the most successful and beloved WWE wrestlers. He was with the company for many years, being one of the faces for several wrestling events, including the recent WrestleMania XL.
