Ronda Rousey left WWE after her SummerSlam match against Shayna Baszler last year. Since then, she has been open and frank whenever she has spoken about her time at the company. And she doesn’t have many good things to say, as she frequently shares negative comments about those years.

At one point, Rousey was significantly unhappy in WWE, feeling that things hadn’t developed as promised. And so she has been talking smack about the promotion every chance they get. The WWE too seems to ignore the ex-UFC fighter, as they avoid mentioning her in the promotion. A rule that they just broke at NXT Battlegrounds.

Tonight, WWE celebrated NXT’s third Premium Live Event of the year, Battleground. And the venue? The UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. So it was no wonder that the WWE would surely mention their superstars such as Shayna Baszler, who ruled both the octagon and the squared circle. In one such moment of praise, the WWE commentators mentioned Ronda Rousey as they showed a picture of the captains and participants of the UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter. A show that takes place on the same premises.

But does that mean that everything is fine between her and the promotion? Well, unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like it. Because of her controversial statements and the tales she published in her biography, Rousey has been labeled as a staunch defender of a campaign against WWE. So it doesn’t seem like the former UFC fighter would be calling it peace with the promotion anytime soon. But does that mean she has called it quits when it comes to pro wrestling? Well, not exactly!

Ronda Rousey assures that she could grace the squared circle again

After leaving WWE in mid-2023, Ronda Rousey has stayed away from the ring. Although she does not currently seem to have any intention of fighting again, that possibility is not completely ruled out. During her appearance in Steve-O’s Wild Ride, Rousey confirmed that there is a possibility that she will return to wrestling in the future.

However, she made it clear that, if she did, she would only do it in the independent scene. Rousey argued that there she would have more freedom and opportunities to prepare for her matches compared to the big leagues. “If I fight from now on, I’ll do it on an independent show where I can wrestle as long as I want and prepare as long as I want, and do all the moves I want and do it with my friends and take all the anxiety away from me because it’s unnecessarily stressful and dangerous, just like they do.”

Ronda Rousey has strongly criticized WWE for what she perceived as a lack of proper preparation compared to other celebrities, such as Logan Paul, who received more intensive training from the company. This aspect seems to have been a significant factor in her dissatisfaction, leading her to seek other opportunities outside the company. Nevertheless, you never say never in pro wrestling and the promotion has already showcased that they don’t hold grudges by mentioning her during WWE programming. What did you make of the name drop?
