“Ridiculous”: Joe Rogan On How ‘Amazing’ Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Weird’ Fans Ignored Normal Etiquettes After Meeting The Rock in 2017

Dwayne Johnson enjoys immense popularity among fans worldwide. From his days in WWE as The People’s Champion to a top-drawer Hollywood celebrity, the people adore The Rock. A lot of that has to do with how DJ interacts with his fans and goes out of his way for them.

The fans in return shower him with love rarely poured for other stars. Whenever the fans catch a glimpse of their hero, they always try to make the most of it. A UFC personality was once taken aback by the fans of Johnson and how they stopped at nothing to have a moment with him.

Very few stars have the global appeal, and mass fandom as The Rock does. Wherever he goes, a legion of fans always follows him. The fans feel a connection with The Great One and when they get the chance; they try to get a picture with The Rock or bond with him over one thing or another.

UFC color commentator Joe Rogan once shared how a Dwayne Johnson fan once tried to click a picture with the actor.

Rogan said Dwayne Johnson got bombarded

Since his WWE days, Dwayne Johnson has forged a connection with fans that is going strong to this day. Even after becoming one of the biggest celebrities, he has stayed humble and respectful toward his fans. This has made the bond between him and the people much stronger.

Also, due to his rags-to-riches story, the fans consider The Rock as one of their own, and their love and behavior toward him reflect that.

Joe Rogan, a noted MMA, and UFC personality, once described the scenes he saw when DJ attended a UFC event. Speaking on his ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast in 2017, he said that The Brahma Bull got bombarded by fans wherever he goes and they try to get a picture with him no matter who else was with him.

Rogan said, “He can’t go anywhere without taking pictures with people.. They don’t give a f**k if you’re talking to him. They get in between you, they pop their head up and hold their camera up. It’s ridiculous.”

Moreover, he added, “They don’t give a f**k about decorum… No no. ‘I’m getting this fu**ing picture with The Rock’. They just swoop in man. But it’s weird. It’s like all your normal etiquette goes out the window.”

Rogan also mentioned that DJ was having a chat with UFC fighter Demetrious Johnson when a fan interrupted him for a picture. He said, “They are talking having a good time. And this dude just swoops in between them and pops up. And he’s like can I get a picture bro? … The Rock has always been friendly, he’s amazing. But he’s like goddamn can’t even talk to the champ.”

Indeed, for Joe Rogan, it was strange seeing the fans being so casual and interactive with a celebrity like The Rock. It seems the former WWE Champion finds it difficult to have a moment to himself when he is out there in the public eye. Despite getting his space intruded by the fans regularly who ask for photos and a moment with The Great One, he always obliges and does it with a smile on his face.
