Brock Lesnar ruffled more than a few feathers during his short but spectacular run in UFC. Eyebrows were raised when he received a heavyweight title shot in just his third match with the promotion. But he proved his doubters wrong, winning the title at UFC 91, after defeating Randy Couture.
Still, many of those watching from outside and some fighters in the promotion had a lot to say when it came to the former WWE Champion. A controversial UFC legend once made personal remarks about ‘The Beast’, with Lesnar responding in a perfect manner later.

Coming from the world of sports entertainment meant they were a lot of nay-sayers about Lesnar’s ability to succeed in MMA. But ‘The Beast Incarnate’ arrived and conquered the UFC in a dominating fashion. Chael Sonnen, a UFC legend in his own right, once had a lot to say about Brock Lesnar and when Lesnar had the chance to respond, he nonchalantly dismissed Sonnen altogether.
Brock Lesnar said he didn’t know who Chael Sonnen was
Brock Lesnar had great success during his UFC run. After winning the heavyweight title at UFC 91, he defeated Frank Mir and then Shane Carwin to become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. This came despite Lesnar suffering from diverticulitis, and it earned him the respect of his peers and fans alike. However, Chael Sonnen wasn’t convinced.
In 2010, Sonnen verbally attacked Lesnar over his haircut and diet. Moreover, he said he would slap him in the face and he wouldn’t do anything. In Sonnen’s words, “Brock, quit eating so many raw eggs and doing push-ups because it’s affecting your realm of reality. Are you kidding me? I’d slap you in your face, and you wouldn’t do anything. ‘I’m Brock Lesnar. I’ve got this $5 haircut and a knife tattooed on my chest.”

A month later, Brock Lesnar appeared in an interview with Jim Rome before his big title defense against Cain Velasquez at UFC 121. Rome asked ‘The Conqueror’ if he had anything to say about Sonnen’s comments. Lesnar responded in typical Lesnar fashion. He said, “I don’t know who he is. Is he a fighter? I don’t know who he is. I’m serious.”

This was a real dismissive response by Lesnar, which undermined the UFC legend. Even after the host showed Lesnar a video of Sonnen, he refused to acknowledge him and said he was serious about not identifying who this person was. It looks like Lesnar can knock out his opponents even when he is not fighting them with his bare hands.
