Ronda Rousey has been one of the most successful combat sports athletes of the last decade. After becoming a household name in UFC, she signed for WWE in 2018, which has further added to her star power. As an in-ring trash talker, Rousey is up there with the best. However, recently she also had bitter words for UFC fans that caused some stir.
A star as big as Rousey enjoyed the adulation of the fans for the most part of her MMA career. But things changed after her two defeats in a row, which left both parties with a bitter taste.

Recently, Rousey compared WWE and UFC fan bases.
Ronda Rousey had harsh words for UFC fans
Rousey gained immense popularity during her rise as the UFC women’s bantamweight champion. She, once self-proclaimed to be the highest-paid female athlete on the roster. However, after suffering two consecutive losses, there was some criticism from the fans. Fans turned backs to their favorite and Rousey eventually retired from MMA.
She has found immense popularity now as a WWE superstar. Although she may still divide opinion among the wrestling fan base, fans admire Rousey for training hard to be a better pro wrestler.
‘The Baddest Women on the Planet’ replied that WWE fans cared more about wrestlers, unlike the UFC fans.“UFC fans have much less respect for their veterans and legends of the sport than WWE fans do.”
Rousey further added that WWE fans show more respect to their legends. She continued, “WWE fans are like, ‘this is the guy that did this 20 years ago’ and are still really excited whereas UFC fans now are like, ‘Forrest Griffin sucks.’ Uhh, you owe basically the whole sport to him. S*** like that. Oh yeah, ‘Anderson Silva sucks. GSP sucks.”
Hence, she didn’t like that UFC fans would discredit some of the biggest fighters.

However, she said there are always exceptions, but feels WWE fans respect their legends more than UFC fans do.
Indeed, Rousey’ words will be a bitter pill to swallow for a lot of UFC fans. While her comments may be debatable, fans did make fun Kamaru Usman sleeping with a pillow after his first UFC loss to Leon Edwards. This may be the type of behavior that Rousey is referring to.
Right now, Rousey will look to win back the SmackDown Women’s championship. She will face the current champion Liv Morgan at the Extreme Rules premium live event on October 8.
