Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Anaheim, California, featured UFC fighter Michael Chandler as a special guest in the audience. However, the lightweight contender was more than a guest there, as, after Samantha Irvin’s presentation, Chandler did not hesitate for a single second to take the microphone and address his words to a particular person. And that person was Conor McGregor.

In the style of The Rock, Chandler called out The Notorious in a moment that broke the internet and was a perfect way to depict the relationship between the UFC and the WWE post-the TKO merger.

With the arrival of TKO into the equation of contact sports, the union between professional wrestling and mixed martial arts companies has become much more latent in recent weeks. Both companies were linked in collaborations with venues within the United States, in addition to showcasing WWE talent at UFC shows and vice versa. Just last Saturday, superstar CM Punk appeared in the audience at UFC 298. And it was about time that we saw a UFC fighter attend WWE shows. Chandler called out McGregor as he said, “What’s up Anaheim? You are now in the presence of the most entertaining UFC fighter on the planet. There’s a man from Ireland that’s been making me wait for way too long. And I still got one dude on my mind – Conor McGregor! Get your candy-a** back to the octagon. We got some unfinished business boys.”

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler have had a dormant rivalry since The Ultimate Fighter 31. The two men served as captains for their teams. Within this reality show, it was confirmed that both mixed martial arts fighters will face each other at a date and place to be confirmed. With the UFC 300 lineup already closed, fans are starting to work on a myriad of theories in the wake of the segment.

The wrestling faithful come up with a plan

As we mentioned, the callout has led to multiple theories coming up on the internet. And while the two most likely won’t be fighting at UFC 300, fans have an alternative event in mind. Taking to social media, fans shared their reactions and ideas toward the promo, with many stating that we might get to see the two face off in WWE. And not just on RAW or SmackDown, but maybe WrestleMania or Summerslam! Here are some of the tweets that gave off the idea:

Referencing Cody Rhodes, a fan suggested the two should finish their story at WrestleMania 40.

Another fan wanted to confirm if we were getting the matchup at the Showcase of the Immortals.

This fan seconded the idea.

A fan believed that this was actually a buildup to the match.

Well, it seems like fans are all in on the idea. After all, we all wanted there to be a crossover, and while we thought it would be limited to guest appearances, we surely wouldn’t mind two UFC fighters fighting inside a WWE ring. What do you think? Would we get to see the two MMA veterans fight in the WWE? Let us know in the comments.
