“Daniel Cormier’s Involvement Ruined the Match”: WWE Fans Share Hostile Reactions to Riddle and Seth Rollins’ Fight Pit Match

The main event Fight Pit match between Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and Matt Riddle at Extreme was the cherry on the cake after all the matches of the night were done. Moreover, with UFC legend Daniel Cormier as a special guest referee, the hype of the match was much higher among the Philadelphia crowd.

The King of Bros won the match after Rollins tapped out when locked into a Triangle Choke. There were many exciting moments in the match between Riddle and The Visionary with DC making his presence known as the match referee.

The first surprise of the main event was Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins cosplaying WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam. He wore a dragon-printed attire, tied his hair similarly to RVD, and did the WWE legend’s hand signs.

The Fight Pit match was an advantage to The King of Bros, as he could use his MMA style more. However, Rollins also gave tough competition. The Visionary did a 5* Frog Splash doing the RVD hand signs. Moreover, Cormier once pushed Riddle away from Rollins as he wasn’t listening to the instructions.

Subsequently, later while DC was checking on Riddle, Rollins pushed the UFC legend to attack The Architect. However, Cormier made Rollins understand he is the referee and can show some MMA moves, too.

At one point, Rollins and Riddle were fighting on the platform. After an RKO by Riddle, Rollins stumbled down. The King of Bros saw an opportunity and jumped on the ribs of Rollins from the planform. However, Riddle wanted to win this match and, with a little fighting spirit, stood up and locked The Visionary into a Triangle Choke to win the match.

The Fight Pit match was an impressive one, as it allows the stars to use pro-wrestling and MMA styles in the match. However, a few fans didn’t like the match because of the ending and they shared their disappointment with it. Moreover, there are fans who loved and appreciated WWE for adding this match to Extreme Rules.
