During his reign at WWE, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson garnered a lot of limelight with his electric persona and impressive fighting skills. Even now, many years after his retirement, ‘The Rock’ has remains a fan-favorite and continues to entertain the public through his films.

However, ‘The Rock’ has still not disconnected from combat sports, as he often makes surprise appearances at sports leagues. One of those organizations is the UFC. Now, ‘The Rock’ has signed a huge multi-year deal to make an even stronger bond with the premier MMA promotion.

Project Rock, Dwayne Johnson‘s footwear brand in association with sports-wear giant, Under Armour has signed a global partnership deal with the UFC to induct their footwear into fighters’ training wear.

Addressing the monumental deal, Johnson expressed his pleasure on the occasion via an E-mail. “UFC athletes are amongst the greatest, toughest, focused, most disciplined and hardest training athletes on the planet. I am proud, grateful and humbled that my innovative Project Rock training shoe is now the official global footwear partner of the UFC.”

Dwayne also spoke on the same during a chat with UFC President Dana White on ESPN.

“Being ‘the hardest worker in the room’ isn’t just a catchy slogan. It’s my life. But it’s not just my life. It’s the life and soul of every man and woman that competes in the UFC. They are the hardest workers in the room,” Johnson told ESPN.

What is the UFC/ The Rock deal?

The new global partnership is a sponsorship deal between the UFC and Project Rock (The Rock’s label with Under Armour).

The deal will make Project Rock the official footwear sponsor for the UFC. Male and female UFC fighters will put on Project Rock footwear for all UFC-related occasions, such as fight week events, weigh-ins, ring walks, and training. Not only fighters, but corner teams and staff are also obliged for the same.

Project Rock will be replacing Reebok, a former Adidas brand, as the official footwear sponsor of the UFC as their contract expires.
