Dwayne Johnson Is Ready To “Meet” UFC Fighter, After Helping Him Out When He Was Down to Almost $7, Much Like Him

Earlier this month we saw Dwayne Johnson find another athlete who had a seven bucks story. 32-year-old UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo recently shared his story of moving to the USA with $7 in his bank account. The Rock re-tweeted the story on his account vowing to endorse the Zimbabwean UFC fighter. However, now after giving a shout-out on Twitter, The Rock is ready to meet the MMA star.

Dwayne Johnson is ready to meet Themba Gorimbo!

A few days ago, when Gorimbo’s shared his story, The Rock re-tweeted it on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “This is f’n crazy to see and brings back many emotions and memories. $7.49 in this fighter’s bank account. I once had $7 bucks too. I’ve been there on that grind. Got your back, brother. I’ll help. You got this. I’ll be in touch @TheAnswerMMA #hardestworkersintheroom.”

The Great One ended his tweet by saying he will be in touch with the UFC fighter. Recently, while appearing for an interview with TMZ, Themba Gorimbo shared he and DJ are going to meet soon. Surprisingly, he stated it was a dream come true as Johnson wants to meet the 32-year-old.

Gorimbo said, “I’m actually gonna meet him so I’m excited to do that…We are going to meet The Rock. He’s such a nice guy and for me it’s crazy. It’s surreal, to be honest, that The Rock wants to meet me.”

The 32-year-old UFC fighter added, “I mean it’s everyone’s dream to meet The Rock. But this is the other way around — The Rock wants to meet me! I’m so excited! I’m grateful.”

Gorimbo arrived at UFC 73 in Las Vegas Nevada last month with $7 in his bank account. He defeated Takashi Sato and in the post-match conference, he shared being broke. 

However, a few days later, an athlete of a similar story i.e. The Rock vowed to help him. Clearly, it was a life-changing scenario for the UFC fighter after DJ personally offered help to him.

Themba Gorimbo shares how he found out The Rock re-tweeted his story

The 32-year-old shared his story on May 21st, 2023, after his fight at UFC 73. After his fight, he went back to his home country, Zimbabwe. He had no idea in a few days he was going to be discovered by The Rock who also had a similar $7 story.

Talking to TMZ, Gorimbo recalled he was at his village drilling the bush pump. However, after all the work was done, he went to take a shower when his phone started ringing “non-stop”. The UFC fighter’s friends called and messaged to check his Twitter where DJ had re-tweeted his story.

Clearly, this is a dream come true for Themba Gorimbo and fans cannot wait for the moment when he will meet Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in person.
