In 2009, The Conqueror gave an interview in which he talked about a possible match with Fedor Emelianenko for his UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Lesnar said, “I don’t know you know like there are solid, I mean this heavyweight division is not (easy). My last three fights are kind of made it a huge statement there, that I’m going to be a tough guy to beat, but those are really good guys. There are really good guys in the division and there is always a sleeping giant under some rock somewhere.”

The Beast added, “So you never know, I would enjoy to fight Fedor. Hopefully, they can seal something together and I think the best should absolutely fight the best. If that what’s they want, then that’s what they’re going to have to try to get.”

Emelianenko never fought in UFC, but in 2009 White tried to sign ‘The Last Emperor’ in his company. The Russian fighter was undefeated from 2001 to 2009 and currently he is in Bellator. Hence, White wanted him to face Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Title in 2009.

Brock Lesnar talked about his transition into MMA

While many athletes join professional wrestling in their later careers, Lesnar did the opposite. He became a top WWE star and then went to the UFC. This wasn’t an easy transition, and The Beast told about the same in the same interview.

He said, “I think it’s just timing to understand that this sport takes time and you’re not going to learn overnight. Although I learned rather quickly and just in four fights I’m the UFC Champ.”

The UFC Legend added, “So I think just hard work, I’m a dedicated guy and I’ve got a great support group around me. That makes a huge difference “
