While MMA and pro wrestling may not often share a fan base, the stars in both worlds are known to interact with one another. Recently, a former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett addressed Tony Khan on social media to talk about the problem with AEW. In his tweet, the MMA talent was talking about the controversial backstage fights that AEW has seen a few times already.

Josh Barnett wants to extend a helping hand to AEW’s CEO so that the latter can see better discipline at his shows. Through social media, Barnett pointed out how he could help improve AEW’s backstage situation if given the chance.

After setting an MMA record of 35-8, Josh Barnett left for his journey in the wrestling world. He partnered up with GCW to bring out a hybrid sport called ‘Bloodsport’. The new MMA-pro wrestling mix took the combat sport fans by storm. Barnett introduced MMA rules in pro wrestling, meaning that there would be no winner in the match until a KO or submission. He most likely believes his experience and intimidation could bring discipline to Tony Khan’s promotion.

Barnett took to X (Twitter) and wrote, “Just a thought: Seems like the AEW locker room is in need of someone to establish some order and reign in the chaos. If Tony needs someone to keep discipline and sort out conflict, I’d be willing to take the job. I can promise you there won’t be random fights and anyone asking me if I’d like to, ‘Take it outside.’

Looking at the condition of the backstage discipline currently, Barnett believes he can put things in order if Khan lets him help.

Even though AEW is not new to backstage controversies, seeing the company’s condition in recent times forced Barnett’s hand to type out this message for Tony Khan.

What is going on over at AEW?

The wrestling promotion saw a backstage controversy at its biggest PPV ever. During ‘All In’ this year, before the show began, Jack Perry took a shot at Punk on camera during All In Zero Hour (pre-show). As he went backstage he was confronted by angry CM Punk leading to a brawl. As a result, AEW had to take strict action against both wrestlers.

While Jack Perry and CM Punk were suspended at first, Punk recently got fired by the company. The company took this decision because of the professional misconduct that the former WWE superstar had been showing in the workplace. This incident follows last year infamous brawl out at AEW All Out PPV involving The Elite and CM Punk.

To avoid this from happening again, Josh Barnett wants to interfere and help AEW uplift from this indiscipline.
