

Stephanie McMahon is the current co-CEO of WWE. She took over after her father Vince McMahon retired from the company in July this year. Before this, she also served as the Chief Brand Officer for WWE. A strong personality, Stephanie once gave a clear indication of her resolute nature when one of their biggest stars went to work for another promotion while still under a WWE contract.

A WWE superstar appearing for another promotion while still under contract is unfathomable. But with one megastar, such rules were relaxed.
In 2016, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar decided to make his return to the Octagon. At that time ‘The Beast’ was under contract with the famous wrestling promotion.
Before his return match, ‘The Billion Dollar Princess’ spoke about how the company views its wrestlers and what she made of Lesnar’s choice.
Stephanie McMahon recognized the value of Lesnar fighting in the UFC
During her stint as WWE CFO Stephanie McMahon, spoke about what Lesnar’s UFC fight meant for WWE.
In an interview, she said WWE doesn’t view UFC as a competitor. She commented, “We are not supporting the fight necessarily. But, again, it’s not a competitor to us”.
She also noted they were okay with WWE wrestlers venturing outside the company to bring more attention to their brand.
She explained, “the more that our superstars, that’s how we refer to our talent, the more they do outside of WWE, the more awareness it generates and the broader the audience can be that is then brought back into our properties. So we recognize the value of that.”

It turns out Stephanie McMahon, a former WWE Women’s Champion, can throw a punch both inside and outside the ring. Her comments about UFC and not being interested in what the other promotions are doing is something WWE has said for years.
The company has time and again reiterated that they are more into the entertainment side of things and don’t see any competition with other sports.
