Five months after declaring a historic merger, the WWE and UFC finally merged to be one unified company under Endeavor, the MMA promotion’s parent organization. The $21.4 billion deal, which was reported in April by pro wrestling impresario Vince McMahon and Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, was closed on September 12.
After the historic deal, WWE’s President, Nick Khan, predicted what he thinks could be a pattern followed by existing UFC talents in the coming years. If it comes to fruition, Khan’s prediction will see many MMA fighters following in the footsteps of WWE icon Brock Lesnar.

The WWE President has also secured a position on the newly created Board of Directors for TKO. After the company listed itself on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, an ESPN report shared what he thought of the merger.
Khan said there could be a talent crossover now that the two companies have been brought under one umbrella. If that happens, it certainly won’t be a new thing, as athletes like Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, Batista, CM Punk, Matt Riddle, Shayna Baszler, and others have done it in the past. But Lesnar and Rousey are the flag bearers as they have been a champion in both companies.
Now, with the merger, this could be a more mainstream practice. “But you also see in the UFC people with big personalities who, once their UFC run is done, once the UFC and the fighter says, ‘Hey, maybe now’s the time to call it a day,’ could those people have a longer life at WWE, an extended life with TKO? We think so,” Khan said while speaking to ESPN. He referred to the distinct styles of the two disciplines, MMA and pro wrestling.
While the hard-hitting, unscripted nature of MMA comes with a shelf life for an athlete, the more synchronized, predetermined environment of pro wrestling helps talents thrive longer. So, once done with their stints with UFC, they could sign up for a career in the squared circle.
In the past, many UFC stars have teased a move to the WWE as well. Meanwhile, a prominent UFC name is a hot favorite of a WWE legend.
The Undertaker reveals who he would like to see in WWE
The Undertaker is one of the most prominent names in the pro wrestling world. While he is known for his longstanding association with the WWE, The Deadman is revered by rival promotions as well.
Earlier this year, he revealed who from the UFC would make a great character in the WWE. It is none other than ‘The Notorious. Speaking to The Independent, Taker said Conor McGregor has what it takes to be in the WWE.

He also envisioned a heel run for the former UFC lightweight champion. But McGregor is still active in MMA and recently hinted at moving to a higher weight division.
That said, McGregor, 35, still has time to switch the octagon for the squared circle, but will he make the jump like some of his peers? There’s no doubt that the WWE would love to have his service, especially after Khan’s recent statement, but fans of both McGregor and the WWE will have to wait for that to happen.
