After ‘Exposing’ Vince McMahon Earlier, UFC Legend Takes Shot At WWE Legend John Cena

John Cena was one of the popular wrestlers during his time with the WWE. Cena led WWE during the Ruthless Aggression Era and became the face of the company. His run at the top lasted for almost a decade, before he began tip-toeing into Hollywood. Over the years, ‘The Leader of Cenation’ earned the respect of his peers and enjoys a massive fan base. However, it seems one UFC legend isn’t particularly a John Cena fan.

UFC Legend Chael Sonnen hasn’t hidden his opinions about WWE in the past. And now he has gone after one of their biggest stars in Cena. Sonnen went after the 16-time WWE Champion on Twitter and held nothing back.

Sonnen targeted John Cena after his motivational Tweet

During his WWE run, the company presented John Cena as a role model to the younger generation. He held the ethos of ‘Hustle, Loyalty and Respect’ and gradually it became more than a moniker for the wrestler.

Even beyond WWE, Cena is known for his humble nature and helping people. The two-time Royal Rumble winner holds the record for the most number of wishes granted through Make-A-Wish Foundation. Over on his social media, ‘The Franchise Player’ often posts inspirational messages to motivate people.

A few days ago, Cena posted another such message on his Twitter handle where he talked about not being dependent on others for one’s self-worth. He tweeted, “Your self worth should not depend on others, especially those who are intentionally hurtful.”

Many fans responded positively to this tweet and appreciated Cena for it. However, former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen wasn’t too kind. He went after the former WWE Champion and didn’t mince his words while replying to Cena’s tweet.

Sonnen tweeted, “I’d like to take that book you are getting all of these out of and smash you right over the head with it”.

To say this was an escalation would be an understatement. ‘The Bad Guy’ hasn’t shied away from his dislike of WWE, and he has now taken a shot at one of their biggest stars. Not so long ago, he talked about Vince McMahon’s personal life and claimed to have knowledge of his sexual relations with other women.

This is not the first time Sonnen has spoken rudely of John Cena either. Earlier, he replied to another Cena tweet and mentioned “it is OK to make bad movies” in a sarcastic rant.

So far, the ‘Peacemaker’ is keeping his peace and not responding to Sonnen. But if he does go off someday, we may see a glimpse of the ‘Doctor of Thugnomics’. Now that will be interesting.
