Ken Shamrock is a well-reputed name in the world of combat sports. ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’ has competed in arguably the best promotions of wrestling and MMA, The WWE, and The UFC. Shamrock was the first-ever, UFC Superfight winner at UFC 6. He is also a UFC Hall of Famer and one of the pioneers of the coveted ankle lock submission. His feud with ‘The Rock’ during his WWF (now WWE) tenure is still remembered by a lot of fans. Especially the chair shot to his face by ‘The Rock’ which came at a 1998 event of WWF.

Shamrock described his experience of the chair shot while he appeared on a YouTube ‘Vlad TV’. The chair shot, which happened in 1998, appeared brutal and Shamrock appeared to be concussed by the hit.
The Rock didn’t want to hit Ken Shamrock in the face
Shamrock also described his pre-showdown discussion with The Rock stating, “If we’re gonna do the chair-shot, hit me in the face”. But, The Rock didn’t take Shamrock seriously listening to his idea of hitting Shamrock in his face with a chair. ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’ stated, “Ok, be serious.”. Shamrock also said that he had to convince The Rock once more, saying, “No, hit me in the face”.
But The Rock was too concerned as Shamrock quoted him saying, “I’m not hitting you in the face”. Shamrock said that he went on persisting, “When you swing it, I’ll take care of myself”. The Rock then questioned, “You’re sure?“
Shamrock finally convinced The Rock, saying, “Yes, I’m sure. I just don’t wanna get hit on the top of the head or back of the head. I just wanna see it coming.” ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’ also stated that he had warned The Rock, “You better swing it. If you don’t I’m not selling it.”
The brutal chair shot did not hurt Ken Shamrock
Shamrock also described the on-stage incident with The Rock stating, “He swung it”.
He then went on to state, “Everybody keeps looking at that chair-shot and goes ‘god it must have hurt’”. ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’ stated the most shocking fact about this entire incident. He said, “It didn’t. It did not hurt. For whatever reason, I can’t get people to understand that your forehead is the thickest part of your head.”
Shamrock explained that “You get knocked out, it’s either the side of the head, the temple or the back of the head. You don’t see it coming.”

It was probably due to Shamrock’s years of training, due to which he didn’t feel the effects of the shot. He explained it to his way, but most of us would have found it hard to take that hit without any severe consequences.
