While the WWE Universe was thrilled by the WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 PLE, AEW found a way to get their attention. Since the night started, fans have been chanting and speculating on CM Punk’s return. However, on AEW, Punk got a name-drop despite being terminated from the company months ago.

Since his termination, fans speculated his return to WWE and now he gets a namedrop in his previous company.

Malakai Black name-drops CM Punk on AEW Collision

Punk left the WWE in 2014 due to his frustrations with the creative team. There were also reports that his health and medical care were not being taken care of. While in the WWE, Punk suffered much physical wear and tear. After leaving the WWE, he would try his hand at UFC. Unfortunately, he had an abysmal run in the MMA sport. He would sign with AEW in 2021 to a massive pop.

While FTR was in the ring, Malakai Black came out to the ring from the side of the fans. His presence was ominous, but his message to FTR gained a ton of online traction. This namedrop on AEW while WWE fans were awaiting Punk’s return made the video trend on social media.

While making his way to the ring, Black told FTR that there was no one to save them. During this message, he said, “No CM Punk”. Punk was terminated from the company back in August after a backstage altercation during AEW’s All In PPV event in London.

Since he departed from AEW, WWE fans have been talking about his return to the WWE. Every single hint and clue was dissected by fans. This resulted in hype that he would be here at Survivor Series as it was in his hometown.

Punk finally returns to the WWE

At the end of WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2023, Punk’s music hit after the main event. The roof of the Allstate Arena exploded as his hometown went crazy. Punk walked out and said nothing on the mic.

Despite not being the way fans wanted to see his return, Seth Rollins’ reaction led to many believing the next feud could be between them. While Punk is back, we are left to see what happens on the next Monday Night RAW.
