“Thank You”: Bayley Proves Her Loyalty as Iyo Sky Cashed In Her MITB Contract to Become the New WWE Women’s Champion, Fans Go Crazy

The Biggest Party of the Summer kicked off in Detroit and delivered on its promise. The match card saw several entertaining matches and spots. However, toward the conclusion of the PLE, fans were treated to a thrilling triple-threat match between Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, and Asuka.

The triple threat match saw a valiant Bianca Belair win the WWE Women’s Championship. But she would soon lose it within seconds to Iyo Sky, who cashed in her MITB contract with aid from Bayley.

Fans react to Iyo Sky winning the WWE Women’s Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2023 by cashing in

The Genius of the Sky was long due for a championship run. At MITB 2023, Iyo Sky won the MITB contract and was guaranteed a title match in one year’s time. At SummerSlam 2023, she would cash in her contract on a victorious but injured Bianca Belair.

With help from Bayley, Iyo Sky would finish off Belair and hit her with a moonsault to win the title. Despite a shade of backstabbing at MITB 2023, Bayley would prove her loyalty this time, as she became the backbone for Iyo Sky’s first WWE Women’s Championship win. Bayley took out Flair and Asuka before aiding Sky to win.

As Sky won the championship the arena erupted with cheers for the Japanese star. And a similar reaction followed on social media.

This is Iyo Sky’s first World title reign on the main roster and fans will be eager to see how it pans out especially given her equation with Bayley. Sky has come a long way, from her time in NXT to being a part of Damage CTRL, and now World Champion.

Fans will now need to wait and see what WWE has in plans for her. A possible feud with Belair or a challenge from returning Kairi Sane remains a possibility.
