The home of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns saw Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan kick off WWE’s 37th annual SummerSlam. In a match filled with high stakes and emotion, Morgan came out on top to retain the Women’s World title as their roles were reversed thanks to Dominik Mysterio. This left the ‘Eradicator’ heartbroken and as it turns out she was having a difficult time adjusting her gear as fans spotted a wardrobe malfunction.

For weeks, Morgan and Dominik have indulged in a teasing on-screen romantic relationship. But as Ripley made her return to WWE RAW on July 8, Dirty Dom seemingly ditched the Women’s world champion to side with his Mami. This had left Morgan in tears, but the script was flipped on its head at the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Ohio. Dominik helped Morgan retain the title and with Ripley looking on, he shared a passionate kiss with the champion.

Rhea Ripley struggling to adjust her tights on live TV drew fan attention

SummerSlam was clearly a night to forget for Ripley. Not only did she lose the title match and had Dominik Mysterio betray her, but she also had her shoulder dislocated in the match, which she popped back in a brutal-looking spot. Moreover, her tights caused her problems toward midway nearly causing a major malfunction.

As Morgan dominated proceedings following Ripley’s shoulder injury, she put the Judgment Day member in a modified top wrist lock. It was there when fans spotted Ripley’s tights slipping off and exposing her to an extent.

One fan who spotted the incident pointed out, “Is Rhea going to have a wardrobe malfunction? Looks like her tights are about to fall off #SummerSlam.” Earlier as well, when Ripley was dealing with the shoulder injury, her tights were left hanging low.

Ripley has had similar close shaves in the past. In 2022, she took on Nikki A.S.H. on a January edition of RAW, and during the match, Nikki sent her to the steel ring steps leaving her withering in pain. But on a closer look, it was observed that her top had slipped to expose her.

One fan tried to give it a positive spin and wrote, “The wardrobe malfunction made Rhea’s attire look better tbh.” Ripley has been known for her bold outfits for some time. During the Elimination Chamber PLE in her homeland Australia, Ripley faced Nia Jax for the Women’s World title. As she retained her title, the fans went into a meltdown over her daring gear that showed off her skin quite a bit.

As Ripley impressively battled on despite a dislocated shoulder, a worried fan raised their concern. However, another fan was more concerned about her outfit getting loose. The fan wrote, “Im more concerned about her having a wardrobe malfunction.”

Toward the end of the match, as Morgan put Ripley in an arm bar, we can see the referee picking up a piece of gear that had come off the former Women’s world champion.

One more fan tried to see the lighter side of things and noted, “Liv Morgan VS Rhea Ripley wardrobe malfunction. I don’t mind #Summerslam.” The night did end in agony for Ripley. Having Dominik turn on her against one of her biggest rivals was a huge shock for her. But there is someone who may have seen it coming.

Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio have a long history of father-son rivalry. Although he taught his son a lesson at two WrestleMania in a row, the tension between the two remains. Watching Dominik Mysterio brutally turning on his Mami after all the patch-up angles of the last few weeks, Rey had a choice of words for his son.

The veteran Hall of Famer wrote on Instagram, ”He’s a master at what he does, probably the best I’ve ever known & seen with my own 2 eyes. “Turning his back on the ones that care most” #toldyouso”

Ripley was highly responsible for Dominik turning on his father all the way back at Clash at the Castle in 2022. But after seeing his son’s actions, Rey may have some sympathy for Ripley.
