After a shadowy status in WWE, Drew McIntyre made his return to redeem himself by challenging Gunther. The last time McIntyre and Gunther faced each other was at WrestleMania in a triple-threat match that also involved Sheamus. After a very physical match, The Ring General retained his Intercontinental Championship at the Grandest Stage.
The match elicited a very positive response from the fans. And the reason behind that was the fact that the producer of the match was none other than TNA legend Abyss. Interestingly, Abyss was also involved in producing Gunther vs. Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam.

Without a doubt, Gunther and Drew McIntyre delivered one of the most physical matches at SummerSlam so far. Although Drew McIntyre did not have the wherewithal to dethrone Gunther, he came very close, as the match saw several near falls.
Abyss, who produced Gunther v Drew v Sheamus at WrestleMania this year, will be the producer for Gunther v Drew tonight at #SummerSlam.

Much of the credit for the match goes to TNA legend Abyss, who is now well-known for his role as a backstage producer in WWE. Anyway, after a hard-fought battle, Gunther reigned supreme by delivering a devastating powerbomb to retain his Championship.
At this point, Gunther seems to be indomitable with his undefeated streak in WWE. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see if The Scottish Warrior continues to pursue Gunther going forward.
