Well, we have got one too many squash matches from Goldberg now. After his devastating match with Undertaker in Saudi Arabia, Goldberg returned to fight against Dolph Ziggler in SummerSlam. They had us believe Dolph was fighting against Shawn Michaels or the MIz, but it seems WWE wants its fans to have a better memory with Goldberg’s last match. But with Dolph losing again in a feud he is involved in the question of what’s next for Dolph. How are we going to have any interest in his match against The Miz on tomorrow’s Monday Night RAW?

Becky Lynch (c) defeated Natalya via submission to retain the title (Submission Match):

“The Man” Becky Lynch faced Canada’s own Natalya to start things off, and the crowd loved it. This match had a great build-up for weeks before the SummerSlam and fans were expecting an exciting match between these two superstars. We saw Becky using the sharpshooter on Natalya, and we also saw Natalya using the Dis-Arm-Her on Becky. But in the end, The man won making Natalya tap with a DIs-Arm-Her.

AJ Styles (c) def. Ricochet via pinfall to retain the title

The match with the potential to be the fight of the night, AJ Styles VS Ricochet started with few offenses from both the superstars until AJ got the better of Ricochet, and started picking up the knee of Ricochet. But even with one good knee Ricochet performed some impressive high flying and high-risk moves. AJ Styles strategically broke Ricochet down with fury offenses. There were few close pinfalls in the match but it feels this match was not given enough time. In the end, Styles’ buddies Carl Anderson and Luke interfered and AJ Styles won the match via pinfall after he connected the Styles’ clash. And the Original Champion stood tall after they made an example of Ricochet.

Bayley (c) defeated Ember Moon via pinfall to retain the title

This was a great match between two highly talented superstars but the build-up to this fight was everything but impressive. But these two superstars put a good show for the fans. There was a good back and forth between these two before Bayley hit the Bayley slam and got the pin. Bayley needs to get involved in better-written feuds for sure or else WWE will just have to take the title from her and give it to someone else soon.

Kevin Owens defeated Shane Mcmahon via pinfall

Well, we all had our eyes on this match. Because Kevin Owens leaves WWE if he loses this match. And things did not start well for KO. Shane called out Elias to officiate the match as the guest referee. Shane hit KO with few punches before Canada’s hero put a beating on Shane. The match had a good back and forth but Elias kept interfering in the match. At one point Elias even gave Owens a chair to get himself disqualified, but Kevin made the right call. Hit Shane with a superkick followed by a senton and a frog splash but again Elias interfered. So KO had to go outside and took care of that with some vicious chair shots. It was very satisfying to see Owens hit a low blow and then a stunner to Shane and win the match with a huge cheer from the crowd. And with that Kevin Owens still in WWE.

Charlotte Flair defeated Trish Stratus

It was fought between two different eras as Queen Charlotte Flair faced the legend, Trish Stratus. While Trish was the reason women’s evolution took place in WWE, Flair is the trailblazer on the modern generation superstars. For most of the match, Charlotte dominated Trish. But the Canadian fans did enjoy the beating Trish put on Charlotte. Trish was very close to a win after she hit a hurricane runner on Charlotte. Trish putting a figure eight on Charlotte was incredible. But then the Queen came up with her own figure eight and picked up a victory against the Hall of Famer Trish.
Without a doubt, this match was better than the squash match we had between Goldberg and Dolph when it comes to a match with a legend. In the end, the chants of ” Thank you Trish” did bring back some memories from the past.

Kofi Kingston defeated Randy Orton to retain WWE championship via count-out:

It was a fight from the past when Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton stepped into the ring to face each other. The build-up for this match was intriguing since it involved the grudges these two had for each other since 2009.

The match started with some intense offenses from Kofi Kingston, but the apex predator came back into the match. Since that moment it was a good back and forth between Kofi and Orton. Orton hit an RKO on Kofi, but fortunately, Kofi rolled out of the ring thanks to the extra time Orton took to admire his effort. But Kofi had enough when Orton started humiliating him in front of his family. Kofi put a beating on Orton with a kendo stick ending the match with no-decision. It was refreshing to see the champion with a more intense attitude. This was necessary considering Kofi has been champion for a long time and it would have started to get mundane with Kofi’s babyface persona.

The Fiend (Bray Wyatt) defeated Finn Balor in his in-ring debut:

It was the much-awaited debut of the Bray Wyatt‘s new persona The Fiend in SummerSlam 2019. And let me tell you something, the entrance of the Fiend is one of the spookiest things in WWE. I would even be bold enough to say that it’s one of the best character WWE has created in its history but the question was how would WWE portray The Fiend inside the ring. The Fiend changed the whole atmosphere in the arena which was visible from the look on Balor’s face. Balor couldn’t get any offense going as The Fiend put a merciless beating on Balor. As Balor was going for the Coup-de-grace The FIend caught him with the Mandible claw to finish him off and pick up a win. This was the highlight of the night up to that point for sure.

But Seth was able to fight back, and the frog splash on Lesnar on the announcement table left the crowd chanting ” Holy Shit”. Rollins had a near fall after he stomped Lesnar’s face on the mat.
