“He Deserves Better…Shame”: Accused of ‘Poisoning’ Team USWNT, Megan Rapinoe Destroyed Online for ‘Disrespecting’ a Fan by Forgotten WWE Star

The FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia saw the US National Women’s team make a premature exit. After US Team star Megan Rapinoe missed out on a penalty kick, the team was defeated by Sweden. It would mark the US team’s earliest exit ever from a World Cup.

Soon after the missed penalty kick, fans started attacking the 38-year-old US team legend. The internet was filled with trolls and people canceling out Rapinoe. Amid all the noise, a forgotten WWE star reacted to a major incident involving Rapinoe and a fan.

What incident did the WWE superstar bring up involving Megan Rapinoe?

Forgotten WWE superstar Veer Mahan recently took to his Twitter profile to let out a major criticism against Megan Rapinoe. While the legendary soccer player fought her demons, Veer Mahan decided to judge the athlete based on a past incident.

He responded to a video of her ignoring a young fan while signing his soccer ball. Mahan called it “gross” and talked about how someone should never do what Rapinoe did to a person who idolizes them. He wrote, “Gross. Never disregard the people that make you. The kindness you give or deny especially affects young fans and is never forgotten. This kid had an opportunity to meet a hero to him and he deserves better… at least respect. Shame.”

After missing her penalty kick, Rapinoe was found smiling while hiding her face, which confused many. Media personality Megyn Kelly criticized Rapinoe for not being on camera during their National anthem and not setting an example for the team as a leader. She also blamed Rapinoe for “poisoning” the team.

This particular incident raised a lot of questions. But Rapinoe would later explain the reason behind it. Her smile was not one of joy but of embarrassment. While explaining, she stated, “That’s like a sick, sick joke. I’ve never hit it over, when I miss they are saved. That’s why I had that smile on my face.”

A legend like her is not expected to mess up during such situations, but alas, she did. And despite her embarrassment, the world chose to turn against her, including WWE superstar Veer Mahan.

Being an athlete is tough. Everyone applauds an athlete who leads their team to victory.
