WWE SmackDown welcomed fans for the first time in 70 weeks last Friday. The show befittingly opened with the biggest star in the Blue Brand, Roman Reigns, and his cousins The Usos taking on Hall of Famer Edge and The Mysterios.
The match was a preview of what is to come on Sunday at Money in the Bank. The Usos will challenge SmackDown Tag Team Champions Rey and Dominic Mysterio on the pre-show while Universal Champion Roman Reigns will face Edge.
In the match, ‘The Tribal Chief‘ won after Jey Uso pinned Rey Mysterio. However, Edge dominated Reigns as he put him through the Crossface chokehold with a steel rod.

The match was well-received by the live audience and the critics afterward. It truly set the tone for the rest of the show and the upcoming Money in the Bank.
After the match, Reigns’ ‘advocate’ Paul Heyman took to Instagram to reiterate why the Tribal Chief is supreme. It was the first time the WWE audience met the Heel Roman Reigns. Heyman dubbed this as the “first time WWE #Smackdown was presented in front of LIVE audience since the start of the Era of the #TribalChief.”
Heyman said Reigns is “head and shoulders above anyone else… above their connection to the crowd … above anyone else’s ability to raise the temperature in the room that’s already boiling over. To be blunt, this is a most pivotal run in the chronicles of World Wrestling Entertainment.”
While Roman has upped the level of the marquee players, Heyman assured that they are just getting started. He welcomed the WWE universe back as “The Island of Relevancy Tourism Board” and urged to “Witness History Unfold in Front of Your Very Eyes.”

MVP Reacts to the claims of Paul Heyman
WWE champion Bobby Lashley‘s manager MVP commented under the post. While he agreed with some points, he did not endorse Heyman’s ignorance of the Almighty one.
“While I both understand and respect the praise you heap on your associate, I strongly disagree with your assessment. Primarily the “anyone else” part. I know a guy. An All Mighty one…,” MVP wrote.

Bobby Lashley will take on Kofi Kingston at MITB on Sunday. Both of them are world champions, but fans prefer Reigns it seems. However, we have to wait till Monday to welcome and watch the live audience’s reactions.
