Zelina Vega was released from WWE mere hours before SmackDown. This shocking decision left fans confused. Zelina posted two brief messages after the news, but didn’t provide any detailed clarification.
However, she has finally weighed in on the decision. In her latest tweet, Vega poured in all her gratitude to the WWE Universe and her father.
Her father, Michael, passed away as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attack. This incident moved Vega so much that she decided to become a professional wrestler to honor his memory.

I want to say thank you all very much for the last 3-4 years @WWEUniverse, it was incredible. I would have never have been able to say “this is for you dad” if certain people did not believe in me. I love you all and I couldn’t have done it without your support 🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/R4fI9r64Vm

PWInsider has stated that the release of Zelina Vega was a fallout from last month’s edict that talents drop their relationships with third-party entities such as Twitch. She was informed of the release. Hence, moments before the official announcement, Vega voiced her support for unionization.
Zelina Vega might go to different promotions after WWE release
Before WWE, Zelina was a familiar face in the independent circuit. She made her debut with rival Impact Wrestling as Rosita. She won the Knockouts Tag Team Championships with Sarita once.
Back in 2017, she appeared on NXT as Andrade’s manager. She continued in the role as Andrade moved to Raw and teamed up with Angel Garza.

Right now, Vega is under a traditional 90-day non-compete window, which would keep her from working for televised promotions through mid-February 2021. Considering her love for wrestling, Vega will be back into the ring in no time.
Till then, she will be live streaming on Twitch as announced earlier.
