This week’s WWE SmackDown was special. This was because The King of the Ring tournament was finally back after two years. Along with that, WWE introduced the women’s tournament as well named, “Queen’s Crown”.
The Queen’s Crown tournament has generated a lot of excitement and interest from the fans. The names for the tournament are –
- Toni Storm vs Zelina Vega
- Liv Morgan vs Carmella
- Doudrop vs Natalya
- Shayna Baszler vs Dana Brooke

In round one of the tournament, Zelina Vega defeated Toni Storm in a rather underwhelming matchup. Going into the match, Vega was the favorite one. Vega overpowered Storm from the start. During the final moments, Storm executed a hip strike as Vega backed up into the corner.
Storm climbed to the top, but Vega yanked her down by the hair. Storm grabbed Vega and threw a gruesome bomb at her, but Vega rolled her up for the win.

Next up, Liv Morgan went head to head against Carmella. The bell rang and Carmella bailed to get her new Leatherface mask. She got in the ring and Liv tackled her and rained punches on her. Liv hits a roll-up for two, then Carmella transitions into Code of Silence, but Liv rips at her mask to get her off.
Liv slams Carmella for a two-count as Mella got her foot on the rope. Carmella kicks Morgan and snaps her on the top rope, then hits a super-kick for the win.
Sonya Deville set to face Naomi next week on WWE SmackDown

In a backstage segment, former two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi was furious at Sonya Deville. Naomi inquired why she wasn’t in the Queen’s Crown tournament.
Sonya retaliated but stating that Naomi wasn’t fit enough to be in the tournament. Infuriated by the statement, Naomi wanted to go to RAW. But before that, Sonya said that she would be Naomi’s opponent next week on SmackDown.
It would be good to see both women square off with each other in the ring.
