WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns held his ‘Universal Championship Address’ on WWE SmackDown this week (6/25). However, his celebration was cut short with the surprise return of the WWE Hall of Famer Edge.

The WWE Universe last saw Edge at WrestleMania 37. Despite being well promoted, Edge failed to win the ‘title he never lost.’ Post that, he took a sabbatical for over two months.

In the main event on Friday, Paul Heyman started the address, praising the Tribal Chief and his utter dominance in the SmackDown locker room.

Heyman recalled how “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, WWE Hall of Famer Edge, Cesaro, and The Mysterios all fell prey to Reigns. Only Bryan dared to come back for a rematch, but he was exiled in addition to the defeat.

He then teased something new. Since Reigns took out the entire division, so now they had to do something that’s never been done before on network TV. While Roman was preparing to reveal the plan, Edge appeared out of nowhere.

The Rated-R Superstar took out Reigns and Jimmy Uso with brute force. The show went off the air with Edge standing tall in the middle of the ring.
