At the main event of WWE SmackDown this week (6/18), WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns faced the one half of SmackDown Tag Team Champion faced Rey Mysterio. The match was a Hell in a Cell match.
Instead of the PPV on Sunday, WWE pushed the match to the Blue Brand on Friday upon Rey Mysterio’s demands. As promoted by WWE, this marked the first time when a Hell in a Cell was broadcasted on SmackDown on Network Television.
The night started with Rey demanding an audience with the ‘Tribal Chief.‘ While Reigns came out to the ramp, he gave Mysterio a chance to rethink the match, as he would decimate Rey at the main event. But Mysterio responded that he’s never been more ready in his life.

Ahead of the match, Jimmy Uso came forward and resolved his issues with Roman Reigns. He promised to stick by Reigns’ side just like Jey had. While Roman was glad to see Jimmy finally on his side, he asked him to find Jey as well.
Rey Mysterio tried to overpower Roman Reigns early in the match
Now coming to the match at the main event, Rey came out first as Roman followed. Knowing he had a disadvantage in his size, Mysterio made sure to use other means.
Rey first used a steel chair, a fire extinguisher, and even a toolbox to overpower Roman. While at the beginning things were looking in favor of Mysterio, Reigns eventually came through.
Reigns threw Mysterio twice into the steel wall of the cage. In the end, Reigns defeated Rey with his new inverted guillotine lock. After the match, Jimmy came to the ring and raised Roman’s hand, acknowledging him.
Roman put Mysterio in the lock again as the latter tapped out, and SmackDown went off the air. You can learn more about the match details here.
