Ahead of her match with SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, Royal Rumble 2021 winner Bianca Belair faced Carmella in a match tonight on SmackDown (4/2/21).

Last week, Banks interrupted Belair in her match with Natalya. This week, Belair proclaimed that she is going to make history at WrestleMania and win the title.

Carmella and Belair went at each other before the bell rang. However, Belair got the last laugh as she picked up the win with a KOD. Following the match, Banks again came face to face with her challenger.

As Banks attacked Belair while the latter was celebrating, Belair was quick to counter. Belair said, “Not today” and pointed to the WrestleMania sign implying their impending match. Banks also backed off and decided to wait for the main day.

Bianca Belair is tired of Sasha Banks

Belair vs Banks was one of the first matches to be fixed for WrestleMania. However, WWE booked them against Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at Fastlane.

The former team lost, and the animosity kept rising. Banks kept calling Belair a “rookie” and an “underdog” throughout the weeks.

“I give Sasha credit, but I don’t give her too much credit,” Belair stated on Talking Smack. “If you know me from my NXT days, you know that I always walk around saying that I’m the strongest and I’m the toughest; that’s in me.”

“I feel like I always have to prove myself every single time I step out. Everybody treats me like I’m the underdog [by saying], ‘Oh, she’s improving. She is the future.’ But guess what? The future is now, and I proved that by winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match,” the “EST” stated sternly.

“And I think Sasha Banks knows that. That’s why she’s smacking me and coming in and getting me from behind and trying to stop me every second of the way. I’m the new kid on the block, but I’m tired of proving myself. I’ve already proved that. So, let’s get to WrestleMania. Let’s see what happens.”

Co-host Paul Heyman then told her no one will be her “friend” in the business. He motivated her as he said, “I want you to come back on this show as the SmackDown Women’s Champion. If she wants to look at herself as someone that lost it to a rookie, you go be that rookie.”
