WATCH: Tamina and Natalya Get Emotional on Receiving Customized WWE Tag Team Titles

Two of WWE’s most reputed Superstars created history last night. Tamina and Natalya became the new Women’s Tag Team Champions after defeating Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.

This victory came at a crucial time in their lives and careers. Not only was this Tamina’s first championship in her decade-long career, but it was also Natalya’s first title in almost five years.

In a recent video, WWE chronicled the initial moments of both of them as champions. They went backstage to have their nameplates customized into the new title.

“I think a lot of people take it for granted what it’s like to hold a championship title or to sit there and actually say that you are a champion,” Tamina said as she watched her nameplate. “Now I can actually say I’m a champion.”

“It’s been a long time since I have seen my name on one of these,” Natalya revealed after receiving the new titles. She won her last title in 2017 when she became the SmackDown Women’s Champion after defeating Naomi.

“I could not have done it without her, man. This is crazy. So grateful, I’m so happy. I don’t even know how to hold it!” Tamina joked with her title. She is the first woman in the Snuka Family to hold a title.

Natalya and Tamina showered gratitude on WWE Universe

The title victory came after a long wait. Hence, many Superstars congratulated the women after their win on WWE SmackDown. After the win, Natalya dedicated it to the WWE Universe and Tamina, and the latter did the same.

“Tonight was for anybody that had a dream and they felt their dream had passed them by. It is never too late to keep fighting for your dreams,” The Queen of Harts said.

Natalya and Tamina took to Twitter and showered some praise upon the WWE Universe. Tamina wrote, “THANK YOU WWE UNIVERSE FOR GIVING ME AND @NatbyNature the support we NEEDED!!! WE LOVE YOU ALL.”

Natalya, on the other hand, said, “Show them who you are. Show them why you’re worth fighting for. Then find a person who also thinks you are worth fighting for. And fight together. And don’t stop until you prove them all wrong. Statement makers, bone breakers & now TITLE TAKERS.”
