He returned in August with his own Intercontinental Championship and challenged the validity of then-champion Jeff Hardy. At Clash of Champions, Zayn defeated Hardy and challenger AJ Styles in a triple threat ladder match to reclaim the Intercontinental Championship.
Since then, Sami has been calling out WWE management for conspiring against him. He proclaimed that he is the true people’s champion, and he represents all the people of the continents.
