As predicted earlier, WWE Universe is one step close to the Edge vs Seth Rollins rivalry. The WWE Hall of Famer surprisingly came back this Friday and snubbed the title opportunity from Rollins.

After the shocking return and the confirmation of Edge vs Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins appeared as a guest on Talking Smack.

Understandably, he was distressed. But as soon as Kayla Braxton and Pat McAfee broke the news, Rollins completely snapped. The ‘Messiah of SmackDown’ revealed he was to be the next contender for the Universal title, ahead of Edge‘s return.

“No, no, no, this can’t be,” Rollins said after realizing what had happened. “You guys must have misheard that. There’s no way. They promised it to me!”

This is everything that I’ve worked for! I’ve never been more ready in my entire life – mentally, physically, spiritually. I’m ready to be the next Universal Champion. I deserve the opportunity, not Edge.”

Seth Rollins cuts a furious promo on Edge

The Kingslayer is a two-time Universal Champion. Had Edge not interfered, he would have gone up against his former SHIELD brother Roman. On Friday, he proposed the same to Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville.

Rollins justified his claim to the title as he said, “Where has he (Edge) been? He hasn’t been here since WrestleMania, he hasn’t done anything. He got his match at WrestleMania. I don’t care if it was a triple threat match. That’s not my fault! There’s got to be something that we can do.”

When McAfee tried to reason with Rollins, the latter screamed and went on an angry rant.

“I don’t care what Edge wants! I’m Seth Freakin’ Rollins! This place revolves around me. I’ve been here every day. I didn’t take six months off. I’ve been here every day, busting my ass. I deserve that shot. I deserve that title match.”
