After garnering major attention in the wrestling world, the top wrestlers often branch out to Hollywood. The likes of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Cena, and Dave Bautista tried their hands in the glamorous world of acting; and in this era of WWE, so did Roman Reigns.
As a multi-time world champion and the current Universal Champion, Reigns is used to media and promotional appearances. In Hollywood, he has had his fair share of cameos and featured appearances.
His debut film was alongside his cousin ‘The Rock‘. Reigns played the role of Mateo Hobbs. His character was the brother of Luke Hobbs (The Rock) in ‘Hobbs and Shaw.’

Before this, he had an uncredited cameo in WWE Studios’ film Countdown. But Hobbs and Shaw got Roman Reigns major attention in the entertainment industry.
He then appeared as Tatted Meathead in ‘The Wrong Missy.’ In the rom-com, Tim Morris (David Spade) mistook Reigns’ on-screen wife as his date. Things got a little heated before Morris’ actual date showed up.
Apart from the feature films, Reigns had his share of animation appearances. ‘The Tribal Chief’ made his first film appearance back in 2017 with “The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania.”

Roman Reigns reveals his plans for Hollywood
However, Reigns’ biggest animation project is scheduled to release in 2021. ‘Rumble‘ is a movie about civilized monsters who love wrestling. The principal character, Winnie McAvoy, is a teenager who is trying to break into the business.
Interestingly, Winnie is played by Geraldine Viswanathan, who was the co-star of John Cena in Blockers (2018). Apart from her, the film stars, Terry Crews, Will Arnett, Reigns, and Becky Lynch.

During his sabbatical from WWE during the first half of the pandemic, Reigns got a few offers from Hollywood. As he was not working in WWE because of his health, Reigns refused to work in films.
But later on, he revealed he is open to Hollywood offers, “I would definitely be into it. There is nothing like creating and seeing the magic happen. I think it would be a natural fit to work my way in a smaller role situation and learn as much as I can and gather as much info and possible, and one day I could hold it down and be that lead guy.”
For now, his thoroughly enjoying his tribal chief position in WWE where he looks forward to securing absolute dominance of his bloodline. In the upcoming Royal Rumble 2021, Reigns will defend his Universal Title against Kevin Owens.
