Last week, Adam Pearce turned the Universal Title match into a triple threat match between Roman Reigns (champion), Edge (Royal Rumble 2021 winner), and Daniel Bryan. Tonight on SmackDown (2/4/21), the “Rated R Superstar” addressed the crowd following his heel turn at Fastlane.

Edge appeared during the opening segment of the Blue Brand. He said how he was “naïve” for thinking everything would go smoothly ahead of Mania. However, he admitted that his focus on the “Tribal Chief,” Title, and WrestleMania did not allow him to see Bryan coming in.

“What happened at Fastlane, last week on SmackDown, the chaos, the mayhem, the destruction. It didn’t need to happen. Maybe it did,” he said.

Following Pearce’s decision last week, Edge admits he got “played.” Over the last week, Edge did some soul-searching and self-reflection.

“I looked in the mirror and I finally liked what I saw. I finally saw the guy when he’s backed into the corner. He comes out biting, he comes out swinging. He comes out doing whatever he has to do. I looked in the mirror and I finally saw “The Rated-R Superstar.”

Edge addresses his “Fastlane moment”

At Fastlane, the guest enforcer Edge not only failed to recognize the submission of Reigns but also attacked Daniel Bryan. Edge turned heel for the first time since his WWE return.

Edge admitted tonight that he lashed out at the PPV and last Friday. However, he has woken “the hell up. I am a man Roman Reigns aspires to be. I am a man Daniel Bryan aspires to be. I am a WWE Hall of Fame LEGEND!”
